Many enterprise applications require a relational database for the storage and retrieval of structured information. Many organizations fall into the trap of letting the database (and vendor specific database extensions) drive the architecture and design of their application.

The result of this backwards reasoning is often an application that is unnecessarily locked to that vendor. This dependency results in increasing and ongoing life-cycle costs that are based entirely on that vendor's product - as it evolves, the dependent application must be updated along with any licenses or related tools.

SilkSpeed lets the customer's requirements, and not a premature database technology selection, drive the architecture and design.
